Apparently Kelsey took her first deer yesterday. From what I understand it was a decent 4 point. She's up at the farm with my dad, so I will post pics when they get back, if they took any.

She was pretty pumped about it.

I am very happy for her and I know she is excited, but I didn't miss much and there is not much of a story. Apparently she was allowed to take one of the house pets, since she still had never taken one.

She used the porch railing for a rest for a clean one shot kill.

We normally require head shots for all QDM deer. But I think this was actually one of the breed stock and they let her do a shoulder shot. I understand why they did it, but I would like to have seen her work a little more for her first one. It took me years.

She's bringing home the horns (and the backstraps for me.) I'll shoot a picture of her with the horns, if they didn't get one up there.
