Kay snuffs a NICEUN!

It's not often that Kay and I hunt together, I mean share the same stand, but today was one of those rare occasions. Personally I can't think of a better way to spend a brisk evening in deer season. This evening about 4:45 the does started pouring out of the thicket. When I say pouring, that's the way it was. There's 1 and another, 2 more, 3 over there, here comes 5 out from behind the persimmon tree. By 5:15 we can see 15 does, 1 nice rack still in the brush and smallish 6 pt. The nice rack finally appears and Kay and I agree he's a shooter in our neck of the woods. The buck is mostly facing away and as dark rushes on I can hardly stand the wait for a good shot. Kay has her Rem 700 7mm mag set on ready and as the buck turns broadside I hear the safety softly click off. I am watching through binos and jump when 7mm roars. The deer lunges forward then down a bank and after only 10 steps tips over with white belly shinning. She has made a great shot at 145 yrds and the buck is done for. I have got to be one of the luckyest guys in the world. I am very proud of my wife/hunting partner. The deer weighed 180# live.
