An afternoon hunt with son #1 today. We didn't see all that many birds but the ones we did see were cooperative. Lost one more Sprig to the Eagles---- damn I need a dog.

Yea, this one is a money bird. Photo doesn't show it well but not torn up, very nice markings on this one and two perfect sprigs. I got a wild hair on the drive home--- Although GW Teal are few and far between right now I've got word out in my club that I need a drake. Plans are to mount the Pintail, one the the Greenheads is as pretty as they come, the Black, and the teal in a harvest lanyard to hang on the wall. I've seen this before and it makes a real pretty mount. If a Widgeon is shot between now and Sat, (unlikely) it will go with the others as well.
