    Hunting Report 11/3 and 11/4

Haven't had the time to report in the last few days.
last night 11/3 I was hunting a stand that I have seen deer under from a distance but have only sat in once so far this season. I knew this stand and two others I have in the area would be better the later in the season it was. I have noticed the deer movement and behavior starting to change over the last few days. The bucks are traveling more and more in daylight hours and they are just starting to push does around. I have seen countless new scrapes and the does are getting squirrley. the begining of the rut !!..... Finally. Last night I had three does come out of the opposite corner of the field I was in followed by a beautiful Tall, wide, thick 8 pointer. He fed into the middle of the field while the does stayed pretty close to the edge. I watched him feed for 15 minutes when another 8 point slightly smaller came out from the NE corner of the field . I thought they might fight , but they sniffed each other and both scooted over to the does and resumed feeding. The first 8 came within 70 yards of my stand but no closer. last night was one of my better hunts to date I learned a lot about what stage these deer are in.

11/4 Tonight I sat in the same stand as last night. I debated on weather to sit in the stand closer to where the bigger 8 entered the field last night , but something told me to go back to last nights stand. the weather was considerably warmer tonight with light rain almost all day and night. right around 4:45 the same 8 point (the smaller one) came out into the field exaclty how he did last night, however there were no other deer out there and he was definatley searching. The buck started right for the corner of the field I was in. I had plenty of time to prepare for the shot. when he got 70 yards out and still coming my heart started racing and I kept telling myself to breath. well as luck would have it he got right around 50 yards away and turned left and went into the woods. I was sure I was going to get a shot but it just didn't happen , but I did learn a lot and I am hot on the heels of these bucks . I have a week and a half left. Be back at it in the morning.

    Good luck guys !
