Hunter Safety/ Tough Day in the Woods
Being a father of three boys, this story really hit home. Over the weekend a local dad was out in the woods with his 7 and 10 year old boys at his side while deer hunting. In the excitement of taking a deer the younger one jumped up into the path of the passing deer and the older brother swinging his gun struck him in the back. This father carried his son for the last time out of the woods that day.
Its was an aweful day for this family. I'm sure this father was doing his best to teach his boys to do what we all love to do. It all happened in the blink of an eye and can never be changed.
As part of teaching my boys, we've had discussion of the event that has been covered by the news and talked about at school. Hard to answer some of the questions, but thats how we learn. Safety is something that comes with practice and I will continue with hunts, taking them hunting while carrying foward the lessons we learn each day.

Om my God man. What an awful story. The older brother shot the younger brother in the back? Makes me sick to even think about. The older brother has a long road ahead of him

Tragic. Can't imagine what they're going through.

Sit down Shut up And fish
I hate hearing stories like this but it happens everyday. As the father of a 5 yr. old, I couldn't imagine what it would be like to loose him. My prayers to the older brother and family.
