This was meant for me? HUH? My dogs better not take on any of my roosters. That is the quickest way for a dog to find a NEW HOME. My dogs like their deer fresh off the hoof. Mostly warm heart, tounge, and liver. Sometimes i give them the ribs, but usually pawn them off on a neighbor, or the gut pile.

find a plank of pecan or oak. soak the plank in sea salt water for about an hour. marinate the ribs for an hour in dales marinade. put on plank. sprinkle tony chaceries on it and some paprika. bbq for about 3 hours. take off and let cool about 15 minutes. then throw the ribs to the dogs and eat the plank.

    Hey Bill,

I've eaten them before and they were fine....all I did was slow cook them in a crock pot with your favorite BBQ sauce. Once they were just about done, I seared them on the grill over high heat. Me and my buddies thought they were great. Of course that was when I was in college and any free meat was good meat. Since then, I butcher my own and don't really mess with them....mainly b/c they take up too much freezer space for the amount of meat you get off of them...

Try it out and post up the results.....on a related note, if you ever need any ducks or geese, I'll hook you up with bunches of cleaned and vaccum sealed breasts.....I'm always looking for people who want them.....the wife and I love them, but I hit the fowl pretty hard and always have more than enough.

No ma'am. The Pino clan have assembled quite a variety of domestic dependents. Sometime back there was a certain rooster that was so mean the family canine soiled his drawers when they had an encounter. Can't comment on the rooster whereabouts, but may he rest in peace.

Thanks for clearing that up. Was worried there for a minute. Some of them roosters can be pretty mean and nasty when they want to be. LOL

Honestly, I don't have any problems with the taste. It's the quantity. It's a lot of work to fix deer ribs and when you are done there is hardly any meat at all.
