Did you get a look at the hooks on that strutter. Looks like the mites got a hold of his fan. Seems his wing tips are just starting to grow back as well from his spring time wing dragging. His lil buddy deserves a good neck snapping as well. Unreal, great video Marty.

Do you really thinks that's mites? I thought they were clipped off from fighting. I have heard of mites getting in the beard and making it fall off, but never fearthers. As for the wings growing back this was shot in early May. They come and beat the crap out of my truck all the time I just thiught the didn't like FORD's

Buckeye, that was my assumption, I figured that the video was shot here lately.

But if this May then the fighting that broke off the feathers makes better sense. Man that bird has some niccccceeeee hooks. Neat video. For a wary bird that is hard to kill sometimes they do the stupidest things.
