Here in connecticut landowners deer opens the first of nov. I have been trying to get out every day. My dad has 140 acers that is part of the familys shooting range. I was out on the middle fourty. I hit the woods on a midday to sunset hunt. I was on my way out. There where 2 kids shooting in our skeet field. I never thought much of it. I was walking threw the woods. About 400 yards from the shooters. I hear wsssssssssshhhhhhhhh crack. A kid shot a slug at a clay. It hit a cedar tree eye level 20 inches from my head. # secs earlier I would have been dead. Im still in shock. I went out told them to stop shooting. Contained my self. They threw there guns and gear in a heave ho fasion in to the bed of there truck. They never stopped when I told them to. Unfriggin real.

what idiots. that is so stupid i don't understand why they would do that. Even if it was an accident they should have enough knowledge of what kinda shell they are putting in their gun and if not then you shouldn't be out there. Glad your ok though because it is stupid how many people get hurt because of some peoples stupidity.

I go to a boarding school with about 1600 acres of cow pasture and other fields of various things.I had no idea until I had a talk with the teacher i go hunting with that the school has such a bad problem with poachers. We aren't aloud to go deer hunting on the property but we can dove hunt and goose hunt(thats about all we see that can fly) and squirrel crow stuff like that. So we have a very high deer population on campus.

So last year during deer season my friends and i were walking down by the river to one of the many forts or just spots to hangout at, at the river. A typical saturday in november for us. I don't know why i looked up but i saw a blaze orange hat on the edge of the woods. The guy was holding a gun and aimed right on my buddy who was about 10 feet from me in the field. I don't know if the dumbass would have noticed that the white shirt wasn't the ass of a big whitetail or not bu we got lucky i saw him. After this event we aren't even aloud to go down to the river this year during dear season. I'm not sure if any of you guys went to boarding school but that river was a blessing and now we can't go to it for part of the year. POACHERS SUCK

Yea that is for sure. Yea I have never thought about shooting anyone. Its a good thing I didnt have my vet buddy who used to be a marine or still is for that matter. He would have shotten back for that matter. I loaded my gun back. Not knowing what to expect. I had orange cabeals gude series rain pants on plus an orange hat and orange vest. No excuses.

That is the reason I quit hunting. Too many idiots out there that are clueless with guns.

Thats a real eye opener isnt it, the ones i hate are the whizzers that fly by before you hear the shot....and when they start thwacking branches ...its a definite OH SHIT moment, i have hit the decks on more than one occasion.

Yea last year the same ordeal went down. I was coming out of the back forty. I hit the middle forty said something does not sound right with the reports. I could tell they where not bird shot. You could here them flying threw the air. There friggin slug. I hit the ground crowled 400 yards on my stumack. That sucked. I got up to them stop shooting. Slugs are hitting tree above me. I loaded up the rifle took one shot into a tree near me. Nothing happened they kept shooting. I finally said enough one more slug hits these woods. Im sending a shot threw your radiator. Tahts stopped them. I flipped out. They had not a clue. I have a question for you two. Whats the name of the club down the street? Wallingford rod and gun club. Ok what do you think they do there hunt and fish. Good. There is no reason to fire slugs in the air and in the woods if its hunting season. I was pissed. Man we are going threw hell with these lawsuites we dont need any more. We have all that we can take. ONE THING THIS WORLD IS STARTING TO LACK IN IS COMMON SENCE.
