Hog Tale!!!!!!!!!

You guys wanted the scoop i have a new hobby hog hunting good lord i pick the most ridiculas hobbies.....

well here is the short version of this hog tale...ive have shot hogs with a rifle before but never done it the (as the boys i hunt with called it) the mans way. that would be dogs and blades in the swamps of brunswick county. good lord this crap was thicker than goose sh!t. we left out bright and early at 0 dark 30 pm with a blue tick and well some pitbulls. red and baby were the pit bulls i think the tick was "hey dog" not sure. and headed to the backside of my friends farm. i follow in tow behind a toyota pick up through some stuff that my powerstroke asked me the next day to never go through again.Got to the first lot we were going to run and cut the tick loose at the first fresh sign we saw on the logging road and about 2 min later one of the boys yell's there he is. wait what where who is i cant see squat ya'll...oh i hear the dog i guess run that way... it was balls to the wall for about 300 yards then turn right wait there is a wall of trees there oh well he!! i feel like im playin football again tunnel vision or was it the fact i was running with my eyes closed idk.bouncing off of trees jumping over logs and stumps remember i played defensive tackle i was quick but not fast i running through the trees and stuff and i start to see lights and here a hog yellin. and the pit baby was there with a mouth full of pissed off brunswick county hog i get up to the hog and one of the boys is standing there and says man this is ur first hunt go ahead and stick him (up until this point i thought that a hunting knife was for skinning) stick him heck im gonna put a .45 in his butt nah man we dont shoot them here unless there over 250!!!!ill grab his feet and you go in and stick him just like your going to shoot him with rifle. im thinking "self why in the world are you fixing to stick a 100 pound hog with a knife if this goes wrong its gonna be bad and really hard to explain to my parents why i lost a leg or arm" oh well came this far "if your gonna be dumb you gotta be tuff"..so i stick the hog its game over quick and easy kill. dogs release and i sitting there thinking dang on i kinda feel like a indian or something. okay so i get to take a breath wrong tick sounds off and away the pitbull go again my buddy says you go take this one out to the road and well go get the dogs off this hog so we can catch our breath...they get about 30 yards away and im thinking again wait a min which way is the road hmmmm well it looks like i came that way....ok so i start dragging and here a yelp from a dog and i hear my buddy say "ohhh crap" im thinking thats not a good thing so i break out the mini mag thats in my pocket yea this is gonna help a ton and i hear something running towards me at about a 100 miles an hour... what is that i see?? its red wait a min your a friggin pitbull why are you running away??my buddy yell's now would be a great time for you to go getting that .45out huh?? what?? wait...i yell back "do what" he responds with Big Pissed off Boar 350 +...i start going into primal mode the primal mode of climbing a friggin tree. so after hanging for about 3 mins or so my buddies come walking up and i climb down from my perch reluctantly. there talking about how big that hog was and this that and the other. so we drag the 100 lb'r out of the woods and i dressed him out at the road so he is now about a 75 lb core or so of pure carolina BBQ. and then head on back to the trucks. load up and move to location number 2 for the night.
this part is short lived as we let the dogs out the hound sounded off bam first thing right outta the gate well umm yea this is pretty cool so i take off and start haul'n tail towards the hound and i went to jump across a ditch or creek or something and well jumping in waders not such a good idea...land and think oh this is gonna hurt snap crackle pop oh yea that was a good one right ankle oh yea this hurts...MAN DOWNNN!!!!Ya'll go ahead and im gonna drag my way back to the LZ and call it a night...they were like ok we'll get the dogs they run in and release about a 50 or so lb sow from what im told.
this stuff is a rush though
so that is story numero uno for my hog hunting adventures im going to try and have a camera on the next one this was kinda short notice. i will be better prepared next time.

Yeah.....youre just across the line from us here in Horry County. Got alot of boys down this way gettin into the hog huntin with dogs. Did it years ago down Georgetown County with boys out in the sticks.

Dangest thing I ever saw was this big strappin Kid grab a Sow that was heavy with pigs and walk her out of the woods by holding her back legs up around his waist. She would squeel and holler but he got her out and tied her up, then took her home and when she had the pigs he would train his dogs with them in a solid paddock.

I played a little ball myself. Butted heads with some pro ball players, but I'll say I aint walking no hog 500 yards through the swamp by its hind legs. Especially one going 250 with 3 inch tusk.
