My last trip duck hunting on River Road WMA off the Guadalupe River a 500# pig walked by my brother and I. Thing looked pretty ugly and he was big not sure about 500 maybe more. Meet up with our cousin who was acting as our guide from Clear Lake and he ask why we didn't shoot it. Didn't know they were that bad. This was 2 years ago. Saw them on every hunt that week. At that time they had youth hog hunts in the afternoons in the areas we were duck hunting.

Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
Wow! I had a uncle (he has passed on) that was a vivid trapper and went to TX to trap coyotes. He told me a story where there was another ranch where they hired a helo that rode around all day shooting coyotes and they used a 10 gauge shotgun literally shooting hundreds a day! Couldn't imagine what the shooters shoulder felt like after a day like that. The AR would definitely be easier on the shoulder.
When he was out there in two weeks he caught over 300 coyotes. They would actually keep them alive, feed them jack rabbits and a tractor trailer from MN would come pick them up and pay $10 a piece for them. They took them back to MN and would sell them for $100 on a ranch. Folks would buy them to let them go for a old fashioned "fox" hunt.
Glad the farmers are making progress on the problem

That's The Problem,
That's one of the best example's of "good idea's" gone bad. Folk's trapping and turning out coyote's for "sooped up" fox hunt's. Those guy's are wicked smart (so are hog's), the one's you don't get end up populating an area they aren't supposed to be in, in the first place. Hog's are the same way, get them in an area and good luck gettin' them out. May seem like a good idea, but it'll come back and bite you gauranteed! Hog's become 100% nocturnal when they get any hunting pressure. Kill a sow with piglet's, no problem another sow will step in and raise em'. If you're contimplating on bringing some pig's into you area, go somewhere that has them first. If you can picture the wood's that look like a "John Deere" has just come through with a bottoming plow, that's what you'll have in no time with a stand of hog's in the area. The bright spot is they are a challenge to hunt, kill and are super eating. Both hog's and coyote's are way smarter than any deer, that's why you'll not get them all once they are introduced. Frank
