JFC, have ya'll noticed the price increase in duck loads this year?--- I was getting low from what I had left over from last year, went out this evening and bought two cases of my trusty Kent's---- $170 per case
This coming summer, we should all to get together, do a group buy, and get a few of pallets. Considerable savings at pallet prices.

The increase in price of the shells is due to the price increase in metals---steel, lead, etc. To my knowledge, Kent is actually the only one that didn't go up from last year on shell prices. I watched all the other manufacturers increase right before the season started this year--Winchester, Remington, Federal, etc. The Remington Hevi-Shot loads are up to $50+/box of 10 for 3.5"!

Off subject a bit, but the prices of a box of skeet are what really got me----a plain box of 135 clay targets is now....$13.99. What the hell is that all about?!?!?

Anyway, I wish I had a better explanation for you but that is what I've been told the increase has come from. (We're also a rep. for Kent; and I thank you for using the product!) You are very right though---it's much cheaper to do a pallet buy, if you can find enough people to do it. I think there's 50 cases on a pallet.

Think duck loads have gone up....stopped by Winks in Princess Anne to pick up some deer droppin 270's last weekend. Since I only shoot six or seven rounds through the thing a year a box will last a while. The price had damn near doubled since the last time I'd made a similar purchase. $38 smackers.

BTW If anyone's passing through the shore lookin for huntin stuff the new Winks store is awesome. They've doubled in size, added an archery range with a full time tech, and are very competitively priced. Plus THEY ARE LOCALLY OWNED!!

Winks is located in Princess Anne, MD right off Rt 13 behind the McDonalds.

Another good locally owned store is Sea Hawk in Pocomoke. It's right on rt 13 south about a mile and a half north of the MD/VA line. Matt, the owner, is a good dude.

Winks is more geared to hunting gear while Sea Hawk is fishing heavy. Both sell ammo and general hunting supplies.

Locally owned businesses such as these will thrive only if we choose to suupport them. Walmart won;t leave supplies on the back steps if you're gunning late on a full moon. Walmart won't make quality reccomendations on gear. Big Box stores won't go out of their way to make sure that Lil' Red's new bow will be ready, and tuned, in time for Santa.

Locally owned businesses are there to support us..only if we support them.
