Chris you Tune it with your blowing, it comes factory tuned and will work perfectly as you got it. Also remember to use some back pressure with your hands and blow from your diaphram not your cheeks.
oooooooooo iiiit
Good luck, I will be running around the marina fishing with John friday swing by and maybe I can help you a bit
thanks capt garry, the only problem is when i bought it, somebody had opened the little box before and messed with the reed! it looked like it was in backwards, but i have it on somewhat right now, with the end of the reed being able to go into the sound board or whatever it is called.
which marina? IR? or lewes? im not gonna be in IR for a while until the boat gets done. but im up in lewes almost everyday because that is where the boat is.

I have blown the meatgrinder, personlly i didnt like it, it took to much air to blow, i am in the process of picking up a money maker. As far as tuning it, i would NOT mess with it, the call comes tune from the factory, if you try it your self i can almost gaurentee you it itll sound like crap and youll have to send it back to foiles.
What exactly do you mean you cant get the clucks right? not quick enough, high pitched or low pitched sounding. Specify?
ive used other calls before some cheap ones, and i also blew a strait meat honker by foiles, and i can make that sound half way decent, im doing the same thing in the meatgrinder but its not sounding right, im almost hundred percent sure that the reed isnt in right, and i really dont know how to tune them, thats why i asked for help. where would i move the wedge to get a higher pitch noise? or a deep noise?
i am on the foiles prostaff... give me a call and illl go over it with u ill PM u my #
If you are fairly new to short reed calling you should look for Shawn Stahls instructional DVD. I can't remember the name but if you Google it I'm sure you will find it.
BTW IMHO the easiest and goosiest call to learn is right here.

It flat out puts feet down. And if you don't want to spend over $100.00 the derlin model sounds just as good.
