    NYBH,

Yep the .454 is quite a handfull, you don't see many taking them out "plinking". But it'll get the job done. I gotta say if I was in an area that lended itself to carry some "bear medicine", that one would be high on my list. It's amazing what some of these handgun's are pushing, if memory serve's me well, the .460 has more knock down at 50 yard's than the .44 mag has at the muzzle There is a fine line to the weight needed to make these gun's usable, if you go too light they "kill" on both end's. The .375 Contender I'm currently using hase a ported 14" barrel, but has enough weight to be usable. Frank

YES, THE .460 HAS QUITE THE PUNCH, UP CLOSE AND ALSO DOWN THE ROAD,THEY MAKE ALOT OF CLAIMS ABOUT TAKING TWO HUNDRED YARD SHOTS AT GAME WELL, THAT'S BEYOND MY CAPABILITIES.

YOUR RIGHT, ITS ALL ABOUT THE WEIGHT OF THE HANDGUN, THATS WHAT MAKES IT WORK.

THAT .375 CONTENDER, I THINK, IS MY CHOICE FOR THE PERFECT ALL AROUND HANDGUN FOR HUNTING, IT FITS THE BILL IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS, IN FACT I ALWAYS WANTED ONE BUT GOT CAUGHT UP IN THE BIGGER BORE CHOICES. WHEN I HAVE MORE TIME THIS WINTER I'M GOING TO TRY ONE OUT.

    NYBH,

We've got the second bear season coming in Monday, I plan on bein' there bright and early. Hope to get a chance to put that Contender to use on a "good" bear. I ordered my first digital camera this week, it came today too. Maybe I can figure out how to turn it on and post up some huntin' pic's. We'll see. Funny thing,I'm comfortable with a hand cannon, but am intimidated by a digital. Hopefully it'll pass. Frank
