My son Gus shot his 11th deer this evening...he is 10 yrs old....he started wackin deer at age 6. His biggest is a 7pt that he shot with his grandmother in the stand last yr. He let the 7 pointer walk 100yds in front of him till he had a kill shot, talk about patience!! I know grown men that wouldn't do that! Anyway...this spike came out 250yds accross the field and my little buddy put him down with his rem model 7 youth .243.... What makes this great is that this is the first deer that he field dressed all by himself...no help.... I think I have raised a monster!
Way to go GUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, how about an 10 year old field dressing by himself. I think you have raised Daniel Boone II. Keep them pics a coming. Gus is my hero!!!!!!!!!!
That is awesome. The most important thing you can do is teach you kids to hunts and fish. Nice job keeping our sporting heritage going. Hats off to you .

Thanks for the replies. I will let Gus read them when he gets home from school... You all have a great group of guys on this site and I appreciate the kind words.... Good luck in the woods or on the water this weekend.
This summer Gus rigged, set out and gaffed his first YFT. He also caught a 50lbd YFT out of Hatteras this spring.... First pic is his YFT and the next pic is the YFT that he stuck. (he stuck him and I helped him bring it over the side.)
