Gun cleaning?

I am starting to get some minor discoloration on the slide of my Keltec 9mm.I keep the gun very clean, but it seems no matter what I do I can't seem to touch the discoloration. What do you guys use to clean and keep your weapons in good condition?

can anyone see the discoloration I am talking about in the photos? any advice?

I have a Mossberg 590 with Marinecote that it happened to as well. Just keep it wiped down with G96. Another contributing factor may be heat. Heat can discolor gun finish.

Not sure I see much discoloration. Personally, I like my guns showing some wear. I see enough "commando's at the range with their high polished AE 50's.... and they just let them lie around, never actually shoot them to become proficient. I shoot the hell out of mine, and the wear shows me that I am using it as its designed.

That being said, I just uses Hoppes on mine and the lightly oil, then wipe dry. Never really had any major issues.

keep it dry, and store it dry, if you use it ll the time ite gonna happen, can't avoid it
