    Goose hunting in CT

Guys I have not been on the comp to post much. I have been goose hunting up here in the north hitting some of these resident geese. Its been really red hot till this week. We ended the week with 186 geese. Yes that one hudered eighty six bird dead. We had one hunt my best freind and I took 30 a limit in 2 hrs. Two days later 5 of us took 34 in 3 hrs. We have been in them thick. We got the flock down to about 60 till the flight birds come down. We are hoping for 200 by wednesday. Here are a few pics. I have more pics if I can find them here is a start. I also got one 100 dollar band. I think we are up to 12 bands this year or so.

    12 bands? It's a damn shame they're not all $100 rewards.

    Pretty work on the Honkers.

A guy I used to hunt with always told me that he shot birds from Connecticut down here in MD on really cold years. He had the bands to prove it too. They must band a lot up there.

We guys and gals we ended the first quarter. We hit our gold mine in middlefield once again after taking a good bunch yesterday. We did fair. We didnt see one bird till 815 we had to be out of the field by 9. Owners orders. First flock in we took 2 out of it. Everyone missed but me I knocked down two in one shot. Second flock in was a hudge flock. we knocked down 3 one landed about 400 yards from the blind. I went after it. I found it. On the way back to the blind a flock came in while I was hugging the dirt just out side the decoys. 4 landed my crew jumped up took 3 one flew I had a all twisted up shot at 50+ yards nothing but net. I bumped it. By then it was time to pick up. Our first quarter season ended with 216. Oh well on to ducks and deer next.
