Good Time With The Kids Monday

The kids had off monday and the weather looked good so we headed to Pop Pop's farm to try out some geese that have been flying around. Hunting out of a boat trailer converted to a blind in a soybean field we put out a nice little spread. We had a bunch of encounters, with lookers , cruisers, and even several bunches locked up tight. Had a couple groups within range, but wanted to get some real close and commited for the kids. Did get one good voley off and knocked out a few. The kids had a big time hanging out in the blind, blowing calls, telling jokes, busting wind, you know guy stuff. All smiles from this group. Did get my new camera man Wil out for a bowhunt in afternoon also. Video a little tough to watch need to teach him to not use the 30x digital zoom. Ha.

I'm sure the little guys got a kick outta that! I remember my first couple Swan hunts, actually in a setup very similar to yours in a Winter Wheat field. Seeing those big birds decoy was enough to get my adrenaline pumping! Pretty work.

great stuff, can't wait to get my son out there. He only scouts with me right now, thinkin he will be able to make it next year for some "quick hunts" in the swamps.

Those fine lookin' boyz sure are off to a good start.... Only problem is that now they'll always want more and more!!!!!
