Great to see you pass on him. I used to have a strong mature buck population until the property across the road sold 3 years ago. Now they shoot a deer like that and call it a cull. I know what used to be here and have video of my brother in a tree with 12... twelve bucks under him heavier than the one you have pictured. He was holding off on the big white tined 9 to come into bow range. This all happened in Dec. with snow on the ground that year. Earlier in Aug. before that same season a neighbor counted 17 bucks in a bachelor herd. We haven't seen more than a small 8 running scared in the past 2 years. Later I'll share the results on letting a drop tine spike pass and continue filling out into a 145 class 8. I got him with a bow, again in a Dec. snow but the drop tine had been broken off.
Good for you for truely letting them have a chance to produce a beamy rack with 4-5 years behind them. Looking foward to some of your others. Netman

After season goes out I will put some video up. I have about 5 hours worth to go through with one doe kill. I couldn't get the two bucks I shot on video. One was behind the stand when I shot him and the other buck was on my right and my camera was on the left!! The doe was perfect, center of frame left side!! Tough shooting and videoing at the same time especially when they are close and on the move

31 points!
Mark, I had spoke earlier of this 31 pointer that showed up several years ago just 2 miles from the house. Joe is old school and hunts taking him with a muzzle loader. Amazing how no one had seen him prior to that day. The picture doesn't do it justice. It made the cover of one of the local magazines from the area, Woods&Water.
