I have posted in the past about the farms my brother and I trophy manage. We are the only deer hunters on both properties totaling almost 1000 acres. We have been fortunate enough to kill some good deer over the last few years.
Last night, neither one of us were planning to hunt due to the heavy rain. But around 3 pm the rain stopped and we scrambled to get in a tree. At about 4:30 pm my phone vibrates and it is Bill. He tells me he just stuck the "big 8" we were aware of. The interesting thing about this deer is we have 2 cameras in the 20acre finger and have no pics of him. The only reports of him are from the farmer on his tractor. This deer is a classic example of allowing a deer to reach his full potential. Hopefully Bill will get time to get out of either a tree or the bilige of a boat to tell the story.
The deer was shot at 48 yds with his matthews bow. Dressed out at 212 lbs and grossed scored 160 as an 8 pointer. The deer has 27" main beams and 7.5" bases with a 20" inside spread. Pics attached
I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could.

Impressive buck...and impressive shot as well, 48 yards is pretty good distance, well it is for me. Congrats to your brother and thanks for sharing the pictures!
