If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
Sounds like a pig pickin on the hoof. In Swain County (college days) they were considered a nuisance, and with a free permit, you could take all you could hit... That was a while back, but it was great fun...

hunting feral hogs in nc
(Sun Mar 26, 2006 at 8:07 am) I think there are 5 countys that you can not hunt anytime they are all in the western part of the state. The ferals there are looked on as wild boar and have a season on them. For the reast of the state, huntem anytime.I was out yesterday afternoon in the cold rain hunting them. They came out right ofter dark and it was way too foggy to see.I will try them again this weekeend.

E-Mail Feral Hogs
(Tue Jan 24, 2006 at 7:06 am) Yes it is legal to shoot Feral pigs year round. The NCWRC does not regulate the feral pigs and they do not fall under their juristriction. Therefore, no regulations, no seasons, no limits, & no time of day limits. This info came directly from Raleigh. They need to find a way to address it in the regulation booklet and explain it to everyone. Good luck.

Life is not a popularity contest...
If they are truly no regs for you guys...
Like shooting times and lights, I have a ton of tricks for them. Ours in Texas were cagey as hell. You never saw them in daylight, well i did kill one boar that was pissed at something and walked out at 9 in the morning 100 yards from our cabin while I was sitting on the porch waiting to go pick up some friends who were deer hunting. He was popping his teeth and just walking by. He gave me time to load my rifle and shoot his ass. The overwhelming exception, not the rule there.
A creosote pole draws them to rub on to get rid of lice. A five gallon bucket of corn and a 6 pack of cheap beer in the sun for a week is like crack to a pig. Dig a hole down wind of a comfortable stand well off the ground and dump the beercorn in it. Cover with rocks. Wait until you check the hole and the rocks are gone as well as beercorn. Rebait and rock and sit in stand with a friend at night with a semi auto and a portable spotlight. When you here the rocks bangin flip the light on and commence emptying your clip
I got more

Catching Pigs in Beagle Country

This how we like to catch pigs in beagle country. Here in SC private land has no season or limit. Public land you can't bring them out alive. When we catch them with the bulldogs we either stick him, tie him up or shoot him. When deer season goes out most farmers here will let you hunt them, just knock on a few doors. Big ones make good sausage, little ones on the grill or smoker. You have to be careful, they will bite.
