first hunt of the season

Well buddy called me up the other day and asked if i wanted to kill something. I let out a little laugh and said what time and what ramp. Well we loaded up the power skiff (14ft with a 30 ) and left to hit up some of our killing grounds. Well on the way down we scouted out some fields and saw where we should set up in the meadow to cut them off. Well to make a long story short it was a long long day in the blind. With the death spread out of all big foot floaters with flocked heads i knew if anything saw them they would just come right in. Wrong. Saw one flock and that was it. I clucked to them a few times and here they come. My buddy had his pup that went ape shit and jumped out of the blind and flaired them off. Well i had the bennelli nova 3 1/2 with 2 shot in it so one came just in range so i let him have it. One shot one goose. Saw about 405843 ducks so thats a good sign for what this season will bring. Sorry no pics or video but we'll have a good video for opening day of duck as admin will be filming the whole thing

Nothing wrong with that.

No goosin for me yet, but I have the same shooting percentage. One shot one dove.

Will look forward to the video. I'm gonna be filming a bunch of hunts this year too.

Just think of it was a good scouting for ducks and you got a bonus goose.


I like this filming idea, John you and admin should come down here and go hunting with me and do some filming. I have space for three of you.

A trade off for hunting down there for some up here like we talked about. I'm sure we can get admin to film the whole thing. Just let me know and i'm sure we can work something out
