Took full advantage of the new goose arrivals to pay back a few hunting favors. Let Parker slide in the mummy sack to see if he could hold his own. The geese cooperated, along with a few mallards. Lil' Red was thrilled about his first band. Pics attached.
Probably not the best happy pic he's ever taken. Looks like he's got that lacrosse defensive longpole personality.
Can't tell it from the pic but the Marshall Garage was rockin. Soft crabs, raw, steamed and fried oysters, calamari and a fine selection of adult fremented beverages.
We found the "X" and our plan worked well. Rotated in the layout three layout blinds and eight of us took our limit on geese along with nine bonus mallards.
Wind has shifted today from the northwest and should alter our plan a bit. But we're gonna try to Whack em again this afternoon.
We've been trying to get in our "secret" Mallard hole for four days but the ice had us stymied. This morning Anthony and Butch came by sea. Parker and I came by land just to make sure that someone would get to whack em. We all four made it and nailed ten and a pair of very unlucky geese. Pork chops, eggs, bacon, and coffee followed at my mom's house. No better breakfast in the world.
