Heres the newest addition to my collection of mounts. This yote was taken back in 2003 and was at the taxidermestt for an awfully long time, I had a huge jack rabbit there also but the guy said the hide was wasted, he blamed it on the guide for hair slip. But it was in his freezer so long who knows. The guy does nice work but he will push his glamour work ahead of the smaller pieces. Whatever I'm just glad its done.
So here she is:
This was a trip we took to Arizona, We had a great time. We hunted hard for three days. We went at the prime time for bobcats but could never get a shot at a cat. Had 2 come to the calls. I harvested 2 yotes and 1 Jack rabbit
My hunting buddy shot 2 grays and a yote. We didn't have a ton of action, but the yotes where in the breeding season and they were very hard to get to come to a call. Primetime for bobcats is not the best for yotes.
I love chasing predators. They can be the most challenging thing to hunt.
This girl came from at least a mile away, I watched her come off a ridge across a highway and down a dry river bed to come down wind of the guide. when she stopped she was only 20 yds away from me. I could see all her senses were on overdrive, ears swiveling, nose constantly checking the wind. What a rush it can be.
Thanks Tim
