Ducks didn't read the manual

We must still have resident American ducks around because we all know Canadians follow directions. When the tide falls, the manual says the ducks are supposed to leave the marsh and go to the river, then return as it floods---- well not today. We had a falling tide this morning but the birds never left the marshes.
Very slow for us on the River today but we picked at em all day and ended up with 10 (includes 5 Dippers). They were banging away on another lease across the river though. Can't complain as the boys and I shot well and had a great day together--- breakfast on the river bank was phenominal--- next time I'll remember paper plates and silverware.
