DUCK Youth Hunt

This morning it was Marc's turn to show his brother what he could do so I joined him for the youth hunt.
Jacky had us up way before our wake up time and we headed out to the lake.
Our guide ran us in the pitch dark, first spot already had a boat but plan B was free!



Set the decoys out then had to wait a while. With all the rain we were sitting in water. Marc wondered why the heck should we get here so early and I yapped about having a whole in my waders to the guide.... He answered "Talk to Patrick"!!! Why on earth does he use my waders to go timberdoodle hunting in the Briars???



Shooting light came and Marc had strict orders, only shoot when I say tay'kem...
First pair come in, Tay'kem.... no noise... splash, then Bam!!!
Marc you don't shoot on the water!!!! Too late, he had blasted both 20 yards away. Ok Boy, that OK!!!



Missed a few, got one passing then shot his first lesser scaup.
A ruddy came swimming in but we resisted blasting!



Marc wanted to take a coot but there too I said you can get more ringos. Sure enough not long after the hunt was over.
Short and sweet and he got to brag in front of his brothers even if some were on the water!!!
