    Duck Report - Halfmoon, VA

Just got back from attending the annual meeting of the Half Moon Waterfowl Preservation Society.

First of all thanks to Harrison as always for the invite.

Big Dan, Outlaw Lewie, John, Sandy, Harison and myself were in attendance as were duck fetchers Fin, Gypsy, Dixie and Maybelle.

Hunting was fair, everyone got a little work.

This was the first hunt for Dad's new duck boat, it performed well, everyone got some shootin from the new bush boat.

While the huntin was not spectacular, Fellowship was great, food was excellent and the beverages, well flowed like wine.

Nice pictures Jay, love the last one. Hows the ducks doing on your side of the sound, full moon must have moved mine or a box load of duck crack got scattered out somewhere. Been seeing big flocks of over 2 to 300 birds and yesterday, never saw them???

    Can't Wait..

to anchor off the north east corner of that place in May when the black back gulls are crusing the grassy shallows. Soak some peeler and feel the pull of Mr. Spot Tail.

    Nice place....but where's Dickie??

    Jay,

I ran out of Hunting Creek on Saturday and I thought that might be your p/u. Damn the low tides....it's been a long time since I've seen that little water in our creeks. And just an FYI, yall had the man watching you Sat afternoon. They are a PIA this year (refer to my thread on my day in court). Glad you enjoyed yourself!

    The Woman (the man)

Yeah, we watched the man, watch us, or rather the woman.

Tide got him (or her) too.

We killed, geese, black ducks, a widgeon, couple of buffs out of sheer boredom.

We fooled the man, the woman, by being total legal.....As usual.

Ducks in the sound down here, mostly pintails, have not seen the redheads in a while, a few brant, and some geese.
