Hunted my blind on saturday and had a pretty decent day. Had a wood duck bomb the decoys early which is unusual for this part of the river this time of year. Next thing had some hairyheads come in and cut one. Had another group of hairyheads and cut one more. Saw a quite a few flights of new birds in the stratosphere and had a pair of pintails work the spread. Saw some wigeon some blacks and mallards but none wanted to play. Around mid morning had a pair of canvasbacks work the spread they circled three tiumes then locked on to the hole cut one off the bat and then the other one did a strange thing and came back and pitched right into the hole and shot him at 15 yards. This was the earliest I can remember shooting canvasbacks and the only time during my life ive been able to shoot two in one day.
