. Last year on less than 300 mostly open acres they killed over 80 deer before the winter kill we had.

80 deer on 300 acres?! That's pretty cool that you guys have that many! Makes me wonder what is really running around my 500 acres of 60/40 wooded property.

The number of deer here was way up. Last year the boys played a game after I picked them up from swim practice. They would count the deer spotted from the road on the 12 minute ride home at that majic evening hour when they hit the fields. The all time record was set at 116! Some times they would be to thick to count...

8 years ago when I seeded the front yard/horses field I counted 40 at one time on less than 4 acres of 2 month old orchard/timothy/bluegrass/ladino clover. That was a bad year as we had an eight that was TALLER/WIDER/HEAVIER than the one pictured that visited every evning in the same 10' x 10' spot of grass. That Christmas Eve a guy shot it from the road, then proceeded to drive his truck into the field to make a quick get away and got stuck twice before leaving. I had to look at the 4x4 tracks everyday through April to remind me what they did.

I went 2 years not hunting as a result of what the poachers did. I got over it and fill the freezer every year now with a big grin on my face!!!
