Friggin dishonest people.

So I've hunted a nice piece of property for 2 years now and was hoping this year would be the third.

NOT

Back in August I worked out the deal for the year with the landowner...problem #1 the wife makes the rules, and the husband relayed the deal to me....he's a friggin eunic to say the least.

The deal...I had to get the grass cut at the place before I could hunt. A fair deal since the place has been basically cut in half by construction, and I can't goose hunt anymore....not to mention cutting of grass isn't cheap when it's not your equipment....50 acres of waist deep grass.

So anyway...I called them a few weeks ago to iron out how I would get my permission slips, and told them the grass would be cut on Monday.

Well in a voicemail I am informed that I couldn't hunt b/c I didn't hold up my end of the deal......WTF? had I hunted there yet? NO...Was the grass being cut? Yes..the mower was at the property.

So I called back and said there was some miscommunication that needed to be ironed out. NO CALL BACK.

Finally a buddy called who also deals with them and the guy says, Ok cut the grass and you can hunt....SUPER!!!

Two days later the wife gets back in town, calls my buddy and cusses him out saying we broke the deal....NO HUNTING THIS YEAR.....BUT....CALL ME NEXT YEAR.....WTF?

Is this a friggin joke? What's with these people. What happened to giving someone your word and sticking to it?

I'm pissed.

Sure I have other places to hunt, but that's not the point, I HATE FRIGGIN LIARS.

Doesn't that crap just make your blood boil...makes you want to jerk a half hitch in their ass. It gets worse all the time. The one's that really get me are the farmer's who ***** and moan about all the geese about to eat them up but they never offer to have you over to thin them out...or better yet, you flat out ask them for permission to hunt the pests they are bitching about and they turn you down!! I hope the geese eat every grain of corn in their frigging field.

I'd go back and plant every kind of thorn bush and weed I could get my hands on.

Better yet... Put the grass back...

I've almost given up on permission land at least in Florida or Jersey... A lot of places I had it are now townhouses and condos. Others that were good enough to let hunters in general in had problems with a few and shut the door to us all.
Usually that is just plain dumb stuff like guys driving across lawns or cultivated fields to pick up their animals instead of dragging a few more yards to a proper place. Sometimes its uglier, guys cutting wire fences, shooting at farm equipment or even taking pot shots at livestock.

Public land hunting down here is horrid. Buggies, dogs, gators, snakes, skeeters, poachers, but at least I don't have to worry about someone changing their mind...

I am trying to put together a lease for next year somewhere on the shore. Looking for 1000 acres it will have to be long term QDM and bowhunt only. I have a couple leads but nothing confirmed yet. Let me know if you are interested Dave maybe we can hook something up.

Thankfully the grass was never cut. If they would have pulled this shit after it was cut they would have been dealing with a po'd maniac.

I just read this and it does suck, but honestly it might be for the better anyway! People like that would probably blame you for destroying something that never happened or something along those lines!! I can't stand people like that!! If your going to give someone your word, you stick by it no matter what the wife says!!

Damn Dave that sucks Sorry to hear that. Did she give anyone else permission to hunt? Its ashame that someones word doesnt mean anything anymore. I dont trust anyone.
