The picture is from my Brother-in-laws house. We were over there for my nephews birthday party. The little red pcs on the floor are the result of too many little kids having a good time.

Believe it or not, Chopper hasn't chewed anything but his toys. I can't believe it myself, my first lab ate everything including the kitchen cabinets (glad I lived at my mothers house during that, "sorry Mom") We leave him out all night and don't put him in his crate unless we are going to be gone for more then 5-6 hours and even then I would trust him but the wife doesn't agree.

We are truly blessed with great puppy. He is a little timid but I think he will grow out of that, he is getting better already. I haven't had to hit him yet, just a good firm NO and he backs right off from what he was doing wrong.

carom, please use your crate.
It is much safer for your puppy if you were in an accident or had to slam on breaks in a hurry. It will also ease your mind while driving...

Just my two cents...and with today's economy, that's not worth too much. I got an ext cab p/u and I ordered a set of seat covers, that'll take care of the scratches. Secondly, fishergirl bought me this kick arse leash that actually buckles into the seat belt. And last thing, if your adamant about putting him in the back, use a crate, you and your pup got lucky one time...I don't have to tell you, the story could of had a very bad ending.

Get a kennel any dog may jump out or may be thrown out if you have to slam on the brakes or swerve. My college room mate had a very gentle lab. He jumped out on the interstate around RALIEGH. The pads on his feet were torn of, and he had road rash on his balls.

You would be surprised just how tough the leather is in car seats. I have leather seats in my Durango. Koa rides in the back all the time - never had a scratch. My previous lab never scratched the seats either.

To my way of thinking, there is no smell better in this world than a wet lab!!!

I started my pups (chocolate and black) off in the back when they were to small to see over the side or climb over. And they just got used to it as they grew older. The chocolate jumped out one time on the lawn in the driveway when he was little and never did it again, they love riding in the back.

I read somewhere that when a dog sticks his nose out the window of the truck it is a big High. They start to smell alot of stuff and it gets them a buzz. Dont know if it is true.

My dog Drake just passed but he loved riding in the bed. I only let him do it around town. If we went to the beach or on a long hunting trip i put him in the kennel. Even in the kennel it might tip over or move around.

My friend had to and i think still does leash his dog up. and all he does is bark and bark you can really hear him comming.
