does anyone else have trouble with a diaphram call?

I can't put that thing in my mouth without gagging I have tried the youth models and trimmed my others. I have a collection of different ones I have tried and I just can't do it I have to get by with slates, boxes, and push buttons and I do fine, but it looks much better to a client to be able to spout out cackles and yelps with your mouth. Any tips or am I mouth call challenged for good?

many people have a gagging sensation with the diaphram in their mouth. I do sometimes. I don't use them for turkey hunting but do use them for elk hunting. I often have to fight off the gagging myself.
