    Diver decoy Net Rig

This diver net rig I've seen really intriges me as it looks very natural for feeding Blackheads.
A couple questions for ya'll that are using it---

How do you store and unwrap the mess so that it doesn't get all snarled and take half a day to unwrap and deploy?

What is the best way to anchor/deploy the rig with current or a breeze present so that it doesn't all bunch up?--- 4 separate anchors?

Does painting the net yellow seem to help?

Glenn, this is better talked about over the phone than type but here goes.
I deploy it and take it up as a gill net. I run it out of my 21' southern skimmer. The big key is to "wire Tie" both ends of the decoy to the net, also use 1/2 or 3/4" marsh net so little catches in it.

I call it hunting over the corn pile as that is what it looks like. I have 98 decoys on a 20x20' net, I think this is a few to many and am going to remove 20 decoys as for me, it is kind of heavy.

I have mine set up like this as far as spaceing goes...
    O O O O O
    and so on.

All I do is pull it in and let it lay in the botton of the boat till I am ready to set it out next time.

    Double net rig set...

I will try to get you some other pictures today. Give me a call if you want, I love my net rig. 100 decoys out in 10 mins and in the boat in 10 mins.

As far as storing in the boat, I keep mine on the floor, setting in and out as if it were a gill net. Throw anchors to the side and slowly back up. Then once out spread anchors out and pull from each corner shaking it and it should untangle.

In the boat with anchors ready to toss...

Rear anchors are pulled back to center console and out of the way. I also keep the main boat anchor in the stern of the boat to keep it from tangling in the net...

Each corner of the net has a 1' loop so a anchor rope can be attached...

Glenn, here where I hunt, there is not much current so I deploy into the wind and that helps with getting it set out.

This is a sticky question here. A few years ago, some hunters were busted and convicted on hunting over a yellow raincoat as it "influnced the flyway" Here in the tanic waters, white looks to be yellowish so that may work.

Glen we tried painting ours brown, and the paint comes right off.Probably need to use net dip,but it seems to work just as good without it.When its in the pile it looks like helter skelter, but it goes out pretty easy.Dad had a crew yesterday and they done pretty good.If the birds seeit they got to check it out. They had one flock off about 150 birds try to land on it.One word of caution, use the wire tie with plastic and not the metal catch the metal one rust fast.We have 2- 20x20 with about 90 deks on each one,it kinda like the old card saying''dont leave home without it''.180 decoys in a 40x40 space its got to look good to hungry ducks feeding,we throw out about 30 singles around it.Sometimes they flare if they see the webbing but by then its too late,''TAKEM BOOM BOOM BOOM.

Trey you oughta seen Lee when he was setting his up alot of research / development and engineering went into it, I'm not a duck hunter but if I was a duck I'd have to stop and ckeck it out. Alot faster to deploy and retrieve for sure.
