well this years deer season has mostly been a low for us guys on our farm. first time in about 8 years we were shut out opening day. between 4 of us only saw 3 that no one could get a shot at.
well on sat only myself and my bro alan went. i saw 2 in the morning but could not get a clean shot. we decided to change stands for the afternoon. after some discussion on the 2 way radios i decided to let alan go to the one i was going to switch to.
well about 4pm the guy on the farm next to us shot 3 times. a short time later alan shoots and say it is a nice doe that just came busting into the woods from tthe field. 25 yd shot dropped it dead w/ #1 buck shot. about 20 min lateer he shoots again and radios me to say he killed a buck... a real nice one. well i can sense a little bit of excitement in his voice. he says it busted into the woods the same way as the doe and was only 15 yds away when he sot. 00buck this time and it drops in its tracks. well this is all happening between 420pm and 5pm. i work my way over to him after quitting time to help as he says it is big. well it turns out to be a 10 pointer with 22.5" spread and the G-2's are 8" long and the G-3's are 10.5" long. alan has killed some nice bucks in his day but this is his best ever. coupleof shots here to show it. meanwhile i am still shut out. oh well i would have had to pass on it anyhow as it did not meet my deer hunting criteria.
1. no antlers
2. nothing over 100 lbs
3. spots are okay. LOL
nice kill. Let your bro know we all saw his best to date. What a stud.
We had some sweeties your size walking the roadside two nights ago. I had the gates off the back yard and found droppings 5 foot from the sliding door. Where is that poon harpoon? when ya need one !
