Deer Chili
Got our deer grinded up for some chili this weekend. Anybody got any good recipes for deer chili.
Im going to let everyone eat it first and then post a sign on the pot after its been eaten, "Deer Chili". See how many people get pissed.

Giant sells a kit of spices that are good, the one in the little brown bag packaging.
here's one...
2 lb ground
2T Chili Powder
2t Black Pepper
2 large cloves minced garlic
2 chopped onions
1t oregano
1t basil
1t sea salt
2 15oz. cans Tomato sauce
2 15oz. cans water.
Add cayenne pepper if you like heat. Add it slowly.
Add beans if you'd like. Cook the beans then add to chili to finish together.
You don't always need 2 cups of water, but I tend to cook on low heat for quite a while and it will thicken with time.
You can also add diced tomatoes in place of one or two of the cans of sauce.
Brown meat, garlic, onions in olive oil in the pot. Once brown, add rest of ingredients. Bring to a boil, lower to a low simmer and let it cook. Make sure it doesn't stick.
I like to grate sharp cheddar over mine and eat w/ saltines.
We have Elk/venison chili a few times a week for lunch.

A simple way is to get two of the chili-o packs from the grocery store and follow the directions on the back and add in a few of your favorite ingredients. Fooled a many of folk with this and love the look on their face when you let the cat out of the bag.

Women love me... fish fear me
A dam good and easy recipe....1 lb of ground deer meat, 2 cans of hormel chili with beans and a jar of bushes hot chili, dice up some onions when you brown the meat then just add it to the chili....i know it sounds way too easy but give it a try...the lower and slower and longer you cook it the better.
