Only a few more days left in the NC deer season!!! Went yesterday and saw 2 small bucks and 4 does and fawns. No shots at the does and the bucks were small. Went today and had 8 does and fawns hugging the bay bushes. 60 yds and to far for a bow shot.....Will be at it hard the last few days, the big boys are tough to find. Anybody else still deer hunting? I'm actually replying here on my Blackberry as myself and Miss Squid drive back to Wilmington from an afternoon hunt. My college roommate owns a bunch of land in Tabor City so have been driving there to hunt a lot this year. Deer movement has been extremely slow of late. Haven't seen the first deer in the past few trips--only a couple of possums and some foxes (they are gonna get blasted Jan. 2!). Trying to shoot a doe or two more before Friday so hopefully things turn around quick. I've really started to get into it this year so by next year I'm liable to become as addicted as you are! Good luck the rest of the week and let me know if you need me to take care of any does for you in the future! Ha ha!

Hunted this past weekend, didn't see much movement at all. With my work schedule, I reckon I'm done for the year. A buddy of my dad's is giving me a Weatherby .300 MAG though...Next season should be interesting.

We have been hunting every day since the saturday before christmas. The club has been getting about six or so a day. Got plans to finish out the season. We are hunting the farm in the morning, and neighboring farms. That should be a real good hunt there!!!! Then back to the club for the last two days. The deer have been just laying on the ground and letting you walk right up on them. They lay there in the sun just like dog.

saw 6 doe yesterday evening, 3 this morninig but no bucks the last two outtings.

i'm saving all my yardpasses until Jan. 8th. then i'm going to the lease for 4 or 5 days. all the big deer and multiple buck days over the last 2 hunting seasons have been jan. 9th through the 15th. then nothing after the 15th.

we had two nice bucks killed last weekend. one friday evening and one saturday morning. two other bucks killed sat. morning also. i guess the low hunter activity for Christmas got them up and moving again. but it shut down sat. evening and sunday because no one shot and everbody was saying that they weren't even seeing does.
