Sat the first day of bow season. Wind is right. Stand is set. Weather is iffy. Think I have him fighted out. Get in stand early (3pm). 1st deer in field is a little spike fork 25 yards from stand. Feeds around and for some reason decides to walk in woods right under my stand to eat leaves off of branches I trimmed for shooting lanes. Smells around bottom of tree and decides not move off. Next thing I know the field is full of deer comming out everywhere (except where I hung my stand) There he is the 2X4 we have been seeing with the big 10 so where is the 10 pt? Crap on the other side of the field 150 yards away. Oh well it's early and they aren't going anywhere. I settle in for the show. Next thing I know three does are comming up the hill behind me. For what reason I don't know, but they decide to come under my tree to eat the leaves off the branches I have cut. I'm getting bored so I start picking nuts off the tree and dropping them on the does. I smack the one in the head at least 3 times( wish I had my camera) and they don't even move. Next a nice Buck comes out right where I thought they should (30 yards). I take a good look at him Nah he's about 130" and the big boy is still eating. Suddenly something spooks the small 10 and he runs across the field snorting and scaring all of the deer. When the start to run I figure what the heck and grunt. The Big Boy freezes. I grunt again & again. Now he on a Rope. He woants to know who's talk'n shit in his field. When he stops I grunt. 150 yards 125, 100, 75,50 They friggen wind sworals and the games over he out of there like a bolt of lightning.

Dude you had me sitting in the stand right up and behind you on that one.
Patience will find the arrow through the shoulder blade, cleaving the heart and filling the lungs up. Next time it will be lights out!!
Keep us posted.

Exactly, that is what happens when you let the nice bucks walk (just at the ears and at the nose). They gotta get old enough to divert nutrition to the rack and not the body. You gotta let them grow!
WOW would you check out the diameter of the rack where it comes out of his head. Damn nice deer Buckeye.
