come on sika deer season
well headed down to dorchester maryland to set up the feeders and stands on sat,got there and un packed the trucks and there was water everywhere, hell we had 3 inches in the drive way,i guess all that rain and a northeast blow for 3 days piled it up in the marsh, forget the rubber boots we needed hip boots and we had them never go sika deer hunting with out them that marsh can be nasty,so we put up 6 feeders and 8 double wide stands, carried in 1800lb of yellow gold as we could not use the 4 wheelers,we were worried about them tearing up the trails to much and digging ruts with all that water there,we were done around 5pm( 3 of us ) so we kicked back and had a few cold ones and a couple of burgers ,sun early am i went out to check and make sure the feeder motors were working and there was a doe and a small spike looking right at me when i got 3 steps up,she barked and i was busted,so on to the next spot, did not see any deer but most of the starter pile was gone and the motor had the corn thrown out 12 to 15 feet around the feeder, brushed up the tree stand and i was out of there, opening day of the early 3 day smoke pole season starts on the 21st of this month,i will follow up with a report when i get back,,,17 days to go,,, good luck to all

we use 55 gal plastic drums for the feeder barrell on a 4x4 tri pod with a boat winch, the barrell will hold around 400lb but we only put in around 300lbs, feed time is 3 sec am and 5 sec pm,,, we should get about 70 to 80 days out 300lbs
