Closing early woodie season...

Yesterday I was invited by the boys to go and close the early duck season. Worked all day as The Boss is out of town and we headed out to their "secret" spot after 5.00pm... Worked a good sweat on the long walk to the swamp in 75F too warm Oct. weather....
Beautiful spot but I had instructions of not taking any pictures!!!! These boys are too funny but we have a big hunting pressure around Jordan so I accepted that the request was fair....
Threw out 6 decoys and the boys started playing with their calls that sound to me more like yellow plastic squeeky ducks for baby's bath!!!! As they said Dad you know nothing the firsts ones came in and Patrick Doubled. As he was picking up a single came in, bam went his Russan over under, he was out on his limit!!!
Then more and more came in, Jacky's Benelli and Austins' Remington did some nice shots and nice misses!!!! My Berretta started with some nice MISS F@#%&* You.... too close! Took my time on the next ones shooting a little further and Patrick served well as the golden retriever! A pair of geese had the wrong idea of flying by. Austin took a long shot the heavy bird came down! Black cloud Baby!!!!
Anyway, we had a great time with a limit in less than an hour and this morning they were still talking about it and dreaming about Nov. 14th! Just like it should be!

After breakfast it was time to pluck....

I can already smell the acorn flavored roasted woodies...
Thanks boys for including the old daddy on your duckventures!
