    Christmas PIG PULL

Fired up OLE' Faithful after we hammered a NICE UN last weekend. Decided to feed some freinds and family prior to Christmas.

Built this old thing in 10th grade shop class, never dreamed it would last 20 years or more. It sure has fed some alot of people.

Just goes to show you what two redneck boys with a torch and a welder can do when they put their minds to it.

An old fuel drum, an axle off a chevette and a couple of spares off the same chevette, a couple burners from the tobacco barn, a little tubing and a couple of milk crates all come together to make a mighty fine grill. Not to mention the hood ornament from a Greased Pig Catch Contest I won back in 89'.haHa, thats another story for another day!

They sure made quick work of that Piggy! Nothing but a Ham was left over.

About 8 hours, I open her up once an hour and wet her down good with Vinegar and Texas Pete Mixture then two hours prior to eating I inject her with the same mixture two times each hour. Keeps the meat from drying out, these wild pigs have very little fat on them, so they will dry out very easy if you dont keep them wet. Then I hash up the hams, shoulders and loin all in one pan to mix with my barbecue sauce for serving. I leave the ribs for Nawing on the grill!! They make for some good eating!

I sure do like the way you "throw down" now that's my kind of family gathering. Good job on the cooker.

Thats a mighty fine looking rack of meat on a mighty fine looking cooker. Thats inspiring some ideas for the 275 gallon oil tank behind the house. Think I might have to get out the welder.
