any of you that hunt in areas that have chipmunks, especially east of the mississippi and in MS, have you been seeing a lot more of them? and do you have hogs. every stand i have hunted so far this year has had 4 to 8 scurrying around everywhere.

my theory is that our numerous hogs have put a hurting on the rattlesnakes and now we are having an explosion of chipmunks they were fun to watch the first ....maybe the second hunt. now they are definetly getting on my nerves.

When I go to Montana to Elk hunt those little bastards are everywhere!! They are worse than squirrels and will give you away in a heartbeat....Mark

I often wondered about if a squirrel or chipmunk spotted you could a deer then know your location and avoid the area?FYI I haven't seen many chipmunks this year.

i havent tried to still hunt any during bowseason this year but im sure it would be pointless with those little bastards squeaking everywhere.

I havent seen a chipmunk since we moved here, but the squirrels have exploded this year. We've always had an overabundance of the noisy little bastards, but with the acorn growth this year its unbearable. Its bad enough I cant walk through the woods without crunching the acorn carpet, but the little alarm systems are a pain in the ass. If I can get to one of my stands without them seeing me its OK, if not its pointless. We had chippies in PA but they werent much of a problem even during archery season, they just seemed to ignore me.

i like being around tree squirrels. the more of them the more i know im in a good acorn spot. and they have barked at a buck more than once. but the munks. they are trying to eat their way in the camp
