Yep, it seems like Canada Geese are about the only thing they want.

I'd trade every Canada in MD for specks. We shot them in Arkansas many years ago and they are the best eating goose out there.

Did you have to leave wings on everything to get it home? I cleaned 24 geese and 16 mallards today and am just about worn out. One more night and it sounds like it's gonna be a good shoot!.

    Have to jump in...

Had a little conversation with a Federal Game Warden at a bioligist station after a days hunt discussing this topic. Turns out on a trip where you end up with numerous daily bag limits, you may have to take a chance. The officer told us if it ever was an issue you would have a tough day in court, just do the best you can.

After a 12 day hunt in South Texas 2 of us had a cooler full of frozen breasted ducks, breasted geese and topped with frozen halibut totalling 50lbs and checked in at Houston International. No one question about the cooler when I told them the contents were perishables when checking bags. That was all the info I gave. All birds were taken legally, processed and packaged for our return trip home. In order to make it legal a wing would needed to be attached and for each limit over your daily possession limit a form with the persons name, residence and contact information that gave you the extra birds would need to be attached. We took the chance and did none of the mentioned.

Funny thing, when we were heading down we had a gift bag for our cousin in Texas containing liquid soap more than the allowed 2.6oz that was confiscated. This happened minutes after we dimonstrated that the firearms were not loaded in the middle of Reagan National at 6:30AM along with checking in the allowed 11 lbs of ammo per person.

Sorry to chime in on the topic but thought it would be interesting to here how others have handled this issue. Netman

yea we left the wings on. we brought pack all the cranes and specks. we had a little room left in the 100 qt cooler so we topped it off with 9 ducks. they opened the cooler in Saskatoon airport. they looked at all the birds and checked our license. they then handed us a roll of duct tape to seal it up. all in all it was a lot easier than i expected.....with the guns and game. A lot of people fly into that airport that or hunters and they are geared up for it and used to it. it was definitively not a big deal to them.
