thats unreal..amazing how that got that good of footage. About the time that thing was runing towards me that close i probably would have put another cap in his ass.
A few moons back I was shotgun hunting and had a very similar situation.
Before I had an accurate deer gun I would use my benelli and would more or less just lob lead at them.
One night is was getting dark and I had a herd of doe working about 60 yds up the hill from me. I was about the furthest shot I would take and I took it. The herd took off and the one I was shooting at started running at me. I couldn't see a hit anywhere so i kept on unloading. He ended up pausing under my stand and I heard him "deflate" One of the slugs had knicked a lung and another had barely hit his windpipe.
He fell over about 10 yds from the stand. Yep, you noticed I said he. The poor guy had one antler that couldn't have been more than 3".
That was the last time I deer hunted with open sights.
