The girlfriend just got one and loves it..shot it some and it feels great. No complaints yet
Brownings ship from the factory with a coating on them to prevent corrosion when in storage.
Take it apart and clean it well with break free CLP. Dry it off and you should be good to go.
Bolt rails and the mag tube are probably the spots that are gumming up in the cold.

I think that the problems that occured with the maxus may have been shell related. The dove loads we were shooting were purchased from the nations leading retail store. I am sure that there's a super center near you, and though they read 3 drams and 1 1/8 ounce of shot would not cycle properly in the gun. Using AA brand, purchased at a different hunting supply shop, with the same specs the gun cycled perfectly through fifteen or so shells.
The gun continued to cycle perfectly with standard duck loads.
I haven't fired one myself, but I've heard nothing but good things about them from store customers.
Hunting buddy has one. I helped him take it apart in the blind to figure out why the safety was not working, may have been dirt not sure, he had to pay close attention to it. To me this should never be an issue, last thing to fail is a safety! Same gun didn't cycle on another hunt with 3" Kent Fast Steel. Other than that seems like a great gun, safety would be my only concern.
The safety has a lot of travel in it and doesn't push flat to the trigger housing when it is in the fire mode. It's a bit different.
On Z' gun the safety had no travel and was in the fire position. Thought maybe trash from a dove load was blocking the movement. I just thought that a well designed gun shouldn't have safety issues in the first season. I own alot of different makes including a couple Brownings and never considered this happening. Even have a couple cheap Mossberg Super Bantam 20's for boys, safety will get stiff when cleaning is needed but they still work.
My next will be the Benelli SBEII, shot my brothers some and the thing just feels good to me. Love all the recent Benelli shotguns for dependability and ease of cleaning with so few parts!
went through 2 browning gold hunters both had cycling problems that never got fully resolved even after several trips to the factory. benelli has never let me down.
