Receieved a call Friday night from my 20 y/o son.
(I was not around for his informative years of an harvesting education for which I am not pround of but have since made admends.)
He shot his first ever deer (a doe) in Pennsylvania with a bow!
He just started archery shooting this year and I think nothing would be finer to get your first deer with a bow rather than a firearm. He had a 45 yard shot with a double lung pass through. I totally loved getting that call and just hear the excitment he had for his first deer harvest!

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I also got the call a couple months ago. My dad got his first..a 6 pointer!! He taught me all he knew about fishing but did not care to hunt(until now). I guess he got tired of seeing both of his boys shoot all the deer in his backyard. Really, sweat though, I hope to be there when my boy gets his first(he is 22 months now).
