    Bow Hunters: Sit or Stand???

When you're taking your shot in a stand, do you sit or stand? I've always sat down as I really don't feel comfortable standing up on a little platform 20' up in the air, even with a harness. What do y'all do?

i'd say it depends on the situation. will the deer see or hear you as you move to a standing position? do you have to move in order to create a different angle? you should be comfortable in trusting your harness, stand and shooting ability in all situations. perfect practice make perfect.

sitting is preferred, I try to set my stand where I can shoot sitting, but have to stand when the deer is on my right side, always wear you safety harness sitting or standing. Knot for Shore is right about the practice.

REMEMBER ALSO WHEN SHOOTING TO "GET YOUR HEAD INO THE SHOT"

IN OTHER WORDS...TILT YOUR HEAD DOWN AS IF IT WEAR A PART OF YOUR SHOULDER/ARM

at least I'm not the only one

Maybe I got the impression that most people stood up b/c of those jackasses on TV.

I don't think it's that I don't trust my harness, I think it's more of not liking heights. My big ass size 15 boots don't help either, there's not a lot of maneuvering around with those clodhoppers.

Always stand and shoot. easier to move around and get the right shot if the deer moves. Cant shoot behind the tree sitting down....Mark

I always stand as soon as I see any movement, unless it's going to spook the deer. I like standing though because it gives me more movement & better chance!

I'm comfortable shooting either way but prefer standing when I can.
