    Jay,

Like I said I wasn't trying to bust you up. I didn't re-call you saying anything about trying to get in before. Have you tried the other branches? Like I said it was a great experience for me, not alway's fun, but an experience just the same. It taught me alot of how the world and people really are, thing's you'd never learn in a classroom. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Frank

It's ok Frank. It's my fault anyhow. If I never purchased a motorcycle I wouldn't be in this predicament. I am not much of a behind the desk or non-physical logistics type of guy. That's why I am getting out of what I'm doing.

My two original plans of action were:

Army 18x (18 month fast track to special forces)

    or

    The Marines

I wanted to do something involving combat/special forces. Army 18x program was very rigorous and if I didn't make the cut I'd be bumped down. I found out I'd have a better chance of seeing action as Marine infantry. Started taking the steps.

Tried and tried. Had friends who were lifers in the Marines way up in administration try to help me out but they said even with the waiver process its once in a blue moon they let someone with metal squeak through. Even then it's usually a job far removed from combat.

My absolute worst case scenario would be to leave my good paying desk job for a worse paying desk job.

I am not leaving because of the money, I am leaving because I am not passionate about it.

Jay Im guessing from youre career, that you have a bachelors degree? If youre interested in that career line you may want to look into federal law enforcement. The state dept not that they are LE but they would give you what you want, it is a very good way to break into what you want, and youll get more training than you ever would as a spec ops in any of the branches. Theyre the ones, that say an Embassy has to be evacuated, they go in and secure the embassy until they can send in a Marine platoon to hold it. They provide security, support to the CIA, and all kinds of other stuff. If your interested I can ask my buddy if he would mind talking to you about it. I dont know what kind of details he can go into, but Im sure he could tell you the the basic ins and outs. The good part of it is within a couple or few years you're pulling 6 figures, you can retire after 20 years with a serious pension, and the doors that are opened afterwards for consulting work pay real serious money. If I wasnt married and too old (37 is the cutoff) I might be looking into it myself. Another thing is these organizations youre looking at for training are alot of time run by ex state dept guys, so you can get the training first hand. If you want PM me your phone number Ill give you a call. Its easier over the phone.

That may be the ticket man. I really want something that's going to test me. I need to be tested and keep improving or i feel like I'm not doing my job. I really appreciate it. I am going to shoot you a PM.
