As for my friend's sighting in Flint Hill, VA about 1.5-2 hours SW of Wash. DC, his lab was growling at the window when he looked out and in his words " The pink panther scampered across the yard and let out a meow of which I have never heard"

I hunt the same area he lives in and have seen numerous bobcat, a piebald, bear, but never a mountain lion. the ole timers swear there are some in the area though.

Oh well, chalk it up to WVA Urban Legend for now.

As Many of you Know I am a native Mountaineer. I have spent the better part of my youth and young adult life in the woods of deep deep WV.

I aint never seen one, or any sign of one, and keep in mind, that I am in some of the wildest country in WV, best place to possible see one.

I have seen a shitload of bears and bobcats, but no panthers.

it is possible that they are there but likely there would have been a road kill or two.

Oh, by the way, WVU is in the Sweet 16.

There's (at least) one in Crozet, VA... Confirmed by sightings and photos. They have been seen in my neck of the woods; but, everyone's too scared to talk to anyone about for fear of the influx of the kitty huggers...
