    Benelli SBE1 vs SBE2?

Not sure how many of you have been able to shoot both models but i was wondering the performance differences? I've heard some negatives about the sbe2? I've had the SBE1 for awhile now and the gun has been more than i could ever ask for in a shotgun. I was wondering if i made the right decision in tuning mine up vs getting a sbe2.

i have shot both the sbe1 and sbe2. i personally like my sbe 1. it just fits me better than the sbe2. i had the gun dipped and changed from black to max 4 and it looks almost the same as the sbe 2. but as far as it being a good gun i feel that you cant go wrong with either sbe1 or sbe2.

I know you guys love your 3.5" but I absolutely love the M2. Much better feel for me than the SBE1 or 2. The M1 was also the same way for me, just feels better and smooth as butter!!!

If I want to blast 3.5" I use the NOVA pump and feel the force without any of that automatic action reducing the recoil.

Beretta is the only thing I have to say.

Benelli makes one heck of a shooting iron, but the Beretta Extrema 1 has been the best damn gun I have ever used. I am on the hunt for another for a back up gun.

I will give the Nova credit as being a GREAT pump gun, but the SBE's are too small, and have a few traits that make them a sub par as heavy duty duck guns. Especially in salt water.

Give the Beretta a test drive before you go to your next gun.

I never had a shell jam in my sbe1 and i have used as my beat around gun whether guiding duck hunts or fun shooting clays at the farm! i put well over 10,000 rounds through it and made the decision to put the surecycle springs in it along with the bolt, load tab and trigger mech teflon coated also i had a new magazine spring and billett stopper installed and had the finsh redone in digital camo! the gun shoots unbelievable and chambers faster now than any shotgun i've ever seen.I'm just wondering if the surecycle did more to iimprove this gun or if the new SBE2 shoots as good?

Well, I guess I will be the one to go out on the limb then....
I shoot the sbe2 and love it. I have shot the sbe1 and beretta, all great guns. I think the problems you find people having with the sbe2 are that they treat them to nice! Me, I bang everything in my bag through it! Shoot 3.5 1500fps, 3.0, 2 3/4 and never think twice about it! Hell, I killed a 8pt in the am (1 shot at 75yrds w/3.5" 00 buck) and shot doves in the pm. Just changed chokes is all. Never had a jam. And buy the way, Blackcloud #3 with an IC choke, forget about it, I will never buy heavy shot again....ooops, did I say never, damn.... And I do have a pattern master on my 870, great combination with faststeels,FYI though, DO NOT USE BLACKCLOUD WITH A PATTERMASTER.....

Nevermind my buddy had his sbe2 out this morning and needless to say after shooting my reworked gun he is getting the surecycle spring system in his gun! Here's a link to the website this system made me a believer and i will put up some pics of the gun in a few. http://www.surecycle.com/default.asp...5&parent_id=13

Glad you got your answer waterman. I felt sure after reading the post about the upgrades you had done to a already great gun you had made the right call. You would have never kept the gun long enough to fire 10,000 rounds through it if it did not fit you well. Sorry if I steered your thread off topic, I just love the M2 and Nova pump gun while the SBE gets all the glory with most people. Have a great season!!
