Picked up my baby wild hog yesterday. We caught them in yazoo last week. I'm keeping him in a pen to train my new puppy Bailey and boomer. Boomer is a 4 week catahoula im picking up in a month when he is ready. Bailey will already corner up the pig and bay. This is gonna be a blast. Ill keep this thread going with pics videos and updates on their training progress to becoming hog dogs.
This evening I introduced the dog to his training partner bacon the hog. I put the hog in the pen then put bailey on the outside. She immediately run to the fence barking and growling, running the hog all around the pen. I let her go for 3-4 min then rewarded her. After that I waited about 15 min and did it again. I reapeated this three time today. I will do this for a couple of weeks before I put her in the pen also. I keep it short so she doesnt loose interest. My video didn't turn out but here is a few pics. Of her in action I'm ready for the trailing part of the training tgats when it really gets fun.
