    auto loader saga continues

Am I jinxed or is it that all these fancy "new tech" auto loader shotguns just ain't meant to "auto load"?

Now I have a Benelli issue.

you may recall the issue I was having with 2 Beretta 391's:

Come on Beretta I just want them to shoot

I went out and bought a new Benelli M2 a couple weeks ago and it has failed to cycle twice already--- to make things worse, it actually hangs up inside the house while nice and warm.

The Benelli issue is similar to that for the Berettas. That is, the fired shell ejects and as a new shell is fed and the bolt moves forward, the carrier underneath hangs up on the bolt preventing the bolt from closing all the way. The return spring in the stock is not strong enough to overcome the resistance of the carrier meeting the bolt.

This is unacceptable--- $1300 for an auto loader and it is not too much to ask for it to autoload--- period.--- yea, it was cleaned from the factory, and I don't plan on hearing anything about shell type or needing to be broke in. All shells fired thus far are 3" and it cycled perfect for the first box or so of shells.

Hunting season is about over and I will definatley be in touch with Benelli about a warranty claim.

I am frustrated to say the least-- indeed, son # 1's Beretta is still acting up as well.

Just wondering Glenn, why did you choose the M2 over the SBE?

I HAVE ALWAYS HAD PROBLEMS WITH ANY TYPE OF BENELLI, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE CHEAPER MODEL NOVA, HAVE SENT THEM BACK MANY TIMES AND ALWAYS THE SAME ISSUE.

Good question Bert. I spent alot of time reading and going back and forth betrween the 2 models. I was (am) certain I will never use 3.5" shells ( I just refuse to do so), so I could find no other benefits of the SBE over the M2. I know the mechanisms are a little different but the action is essentially the same. The two guns swing and feel essentially the same, so I couldn't see paying $300 more for the ability to shoot 3.5" shells.

Glenn Mike lpl bought one and it did the same thing while we were hunting last week. I tore it down and sprayed the shit out of the guts inside the bolt slide and so fourth with gun scrubber several times and got alot of gunk and cosmoline out then sprayed with several coats of super lube and all was well. We were actually able to duplicate the hang up it was about 1/2 way through the cycle hope this helps it got Mike's gun straight.

    Ummmm.... Sucks...
I'll stick to my pump gun for the very reasons you mention. I have had cycle issues with every auto I ever had. About 25,000 rounds through the blamerator. Auto? nope... It has me to cycle it and until I break she'll keep on chambering...

You got it John--- exact problem-- I cleaned mine surgicaly clean and used Break Free CLP. Not terribly cold when the malfunctions occured--- shit, I can get it to hang up inside my house where it is warm.

Marty, I agree, that manufacturers should replace or refund defective guns, but they don't--- seems they'll piddle with a loser until the owner finally gives up on warranty claims. Hopefully, this Benelli issue will be resolved first time around.
I've never cared much for Brownings other than the A5. The Golds don't fit me well.-- Haven't tried the new Maxums. As far as Italy goes, your Brownings are Japanese , but for a recent move to Belguim for some models.

Deep--- knock yourself out with your pumps--- I have used them (still own an 870) and don't like them for ducking--- end of story.

Jay, I'm seriously considering moving to a double for next season--- need a synthetic or cheap wood stock as I am literally hell on guns while ducking.
